Move

The move command is almost the same as the copy command. The only difference is that move will delete the original file(s).

Move from place a to place b
You can specify the location of movement by just typing it after the filename:

Example:

C:\>move file.txt C:\backup\txt

Result:
This line will move the file file.txt to the directory C:\backup\txt.

You can also use wildcards (*) in your command line.

Example:

C:\>move A:\*.txt C:\backyup\txt

Result:
This line will move every file with the extension .txt of the directory A:\ to the directory C:\backup\txt.

Example:

C:\>move kaboom.txt C:\billymays\txt\clean.txt

Result:
This line will move the file kaboom.txt to the directory C:\billymays\txt. It will also change the filename into clean.txt
